Walk to D'feet ALS
Last October we lost a wonderful friend, George Vinall, to his battle with ALS. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is a fatal neuromuscular disease which attacks the motor neurons making even the simplest movements of walking, speaking and gesturing impossible. Ultimately the body becomes paralyzed yet through it all, typically the mind remains unaffected. Such was the case with George. Despite this difficult illness he was fun to be around. To those who were lucky enough to know him, he taught us more about how to live than how to die. He was an inspiration--everyone's "pal" and a sweetheart of a man!
George's Gang" (The George Vinall Team) is participating in the Walk in memory of George Vinall and to support the ALS foundation. The Walk takes place in Washington DC on Saturday, Oct 21st. Tax free contributions will support the ALS Foundation nationally directed research to find a cure for ALS, as well as supporting the local DC/MD/VA ALS chapter which helps families in the area with patient service programs. "George"s Gang" hopes to raise $4000 in the Walk.
If you are interested in participating in the walk or would like to pledge a tax free contribution to one of "Georges" Gang" you can do so by going to the website www.fightals.alsinfo.org and clicking on the Washington DC walk.
George we miss you. You are in our hearts!
